- QR Codes – The next generation of barcode are becoming a very easy way to share data: URLS, Contact Info, etc. but w/o sanitization they could allow for malicious content. SET – the social engineering toolkit even allows for building QR codes as part of the bundling of the package/exploits. As security folk we always tell people to watch where they are going on the internet – with QR codes they may not know. Also with the wide acceptance of QR codes the likelihood that a desktop applications are developed and become common place are higher.
