DerbyCon Videos

I had the luxury of attending DerbyCon this year – my first.  There have been several write-ups about how good the conference is – and yes I agree that it is top notch but that is not why I am writing this post. I am writing to thank the AV staff at DerbyCon – specifically IronGeek for getting the videos up online so quickly. As with many conferences, there is the dilemma of deciding “which one to go to?’ as there are often multiple simaltaneous  talks that you want to see.  DerbyCon’s answer to this – video tape the talks and get them online fast!  Heck I saw tweets  linking to  HDMoore’s opening speech just a mere hour (probably even less) after he was done.  I was also able to forego the crowds and watch Johnny Long’s talk “live” while at the HFC booth (while donating to the cause). Personally I have never seen this type of turn around. My hat’s off to the DerbyCon AV team.
